Your Wedding Flowers
Wedding flowers have been a long-standing tradition and are an essential part of a wedding as they compliment you, helping you to express your particular style and provide an elegant atmosphere.  A wedding would not be the same without them, so you want them to be beautiful.

Floral decorations can range from simple to amazing and the many ways flowers can be used in your wedding are limited only by your inspiration and your budget. Flowers highlight the importance and elegance of your wedding day and can transform an average looking room into a wonderland.  The venue of your ceremony and reception will influence the number and size of your floral displays so you will want to make a decision on these before speaking to a florist.  The floral theme should be the consistent throughout the ceremony and reception.

In ancient days flowers were used to symbolize fertility but today, flowers are used as a way of expressing love in the form of beautiful bouquets and arrangements for that special occasion

YOUR WEDDING FLORIST

Before you book an appointment with the wedding florist of your choice you should make a checklist for your wedding flowers and work out a budget. Take the checklist with you as this will save time when meeting with the florist.  It's best to book your florist at least six months before the wedding date.

The best method of choosing the right wedding florist is to evaluate their dependability, customer service, flexibility and the quality of their product. Select a florist that listens to you and understands the look and feel you want and who also has an extensive knowledge of good colour and greenery combinations.  You should inform them about the style of your dress, the type of venue and remember to take samples of your wedding colours as shades can vary.  If you have definite likes and dislikes you should ensure that these are conveyed also.
Ask questions as it will help you with your decision but be open to the florist's ideas and suggestions as they have the experience, talent, and expertise. Your florist should be able to advise you on which flowers will work best with your wedding colour-schemes
Any professional wedding florist should have a portfolio/album of their arrangements and this could assist you in making decisions about their style and suitability for your event.
Finally and most importantly, a good florist will also help you stick to your budget!

CHOOSING FLOWERS

As flowers represent about ten percent (10%) of the overall wedding expenses, making the right choice is very important.

For that perfect co-ordinated look, the wedding attire should be chosen before deciding on the wedding flowers.

It is important to choose flowers that are right for you, so consider the types of flowers and arrangements required.  One way is to choose your favourite colours and flowers for that special occasion.  Another idea might be to consider the different meanings and symbols of the flowers and incorporate them into that one of a kind fantasy. You must also decide whether to use real or silk flowers and remember that the fragrance from real blooms can fill the room.  If you are on a budget reduce your cost by obtaining flowers that are local and in season. Some florists can also provide plants and other decorations on a rental basis to help you save money.
For a tropical wedding make sure that you choose flowers that will hold up to the elements and still look gorgeous when you walk down the aisle and for your wedding photos afterwards.  You may want to use a bouquet holder which will keep your flowers hydrated and looking fresh for most of the day.

Once you've planned and chosen well, your flowers will be exactly what you want, and you'll be free to focus on what your day is all about – the two of you.
