Shopping for a swimsuit is really the same as shopping for clothes in general. The equal rules apply. Light colours enhance, dark colours diminish in addition to considering your figure and what effect you are trying to achieve.
The debate always continues as to which is the better suit … The one-piece or the bikini. Be assured, both have their place with their own look and charm but it really depends on your personality, body shape and intended activity, which should be taken into account when choosing.
The best swimsuit to actually swim in has to be a one piece style. They can be worn without fear of things coming undone or off while you are vigorously exercising in the water or showing your full swimming potential, but it really is a matter of choice.
The importance is that you should feel good in your swimsuit and feel free to concentrate on your honeymoon. |
| USING YOUR SWIMSUIT |
With a little careful thought and attention, your honeymoon swimwear can last successfully through your honeymoon and well afterwards to enjoy again.
 |
Check for brand … when it comes to swimwear, the brand really does matter; a poorly constructed swimsuit using weak blends of fabric will not fit the best and suffer fabric fatigue and breakdown really quickly. Well-made swimwear from quality companies who are consistent in their standards will result in a suit which will be more durable and look better on you. Try to purchase what would suit your body as opposed to what is the latest trend.
Team fabrics with function … Choose materials which will keep their shape and able to withstand the chosen activity for which you need to wear it. Natural fibers whilst cool for the tropics, do not wear well for swimsuit use. You would be better off with a synthetic blend of nylon and lycra or polyester which will move with you, keep in shape and withstand suntan lotions, chlorine pools, sea-salt and the sunshine. |

| CARING YOUR SWIMWEAR |
 |
Handle with care … regardless of how well you protect your suit it will eventually succumb to the stresses of your activities.
Naturally it will undergo pressure due to the demands placed on it by sitting, swimming, sunbathing, environmental aggression etc. While you need to feel free to enjoy your swimsuit, some demands will be more excessive than others. However, you can extend the life by a few simple considerations which can make a lot of difference.
Rinse your suit immediately, using a gentle liquid detergent, on your return from sunbathing, the sea or pool and dry it naturally, out of direct sunlight which can make the colour fade. Sitting on fine, soft surfaces like sand shouldn’t be too demanding but be careful of rocks and plant debris. To avoid snagging lay a towel first on any textured surface which you wish to sit like wooden benches chairs or coarse sand. |
