Photograph Types
A good photographic record of events is made up of many different components which make your memories complete.  Just as the events evoked different emotions so should your photos; in addition to a little extra dressing for display purposes.  Your photographer will be alert at all times during your wedding and will create an account which includes official, emotional and fun.

FORMAL PORTRAIT

This is the traditional posed photo.
Although often arranged it still has its place as a vital addition to your wedding photo collection.

It is a time to get together family, friends, the wedding party or just the two of you, as official records of the special day.

ISOLATED PORTRAIT

Similar to the formal portrait but is usually of only a singular person or couple on a neutral background of plain colour, mottled and muted shades or a tasteful backdrop of fabric such as velvet, canvas, silk, or other.

This is usually best undertaken in a studio.

CANDID CAMERA

Also known as photo-journalism, these are often the most endearing, as emotional or fun moments are captured when probably the subject is not even aware.

Your photographer will know the best time to capture candid shots, at the same time respecting the dignity of the person who happens to be the subject.

ANGLE SHOTS

Photos taken from unusual angles create excitement and depth in your collection.

Angle shots can range from a slight tilt to unusual overhead or very low positions. They are also very interesting when blown up and used as subjects of wall fine art.

ACTION SHOTS

These are photographs which are taken at the time of the incident while they are in motion.

It is highly important that you have a professional to take really good action shots as amateurish attempts may result in a blurred mess, in the case of a really fast shot (like the bride and groom running to the limo etc), which would be disappointing if missed.

DETAIL PHOTOS

A record of specific features which are important to you as a memorable reminder.

Popular subject matters include bouquet shots, bridal gown details, close-up of wedding rings, boutonnières, tiara, shoes and other accessories.

Also included as details are special moments … Hand signing the registry, wedding gown being laced etc.
