If the gift is not boxed, placing it within one will go along way to enhancing the presentation.  There are many beautiful styles of boxes available to purchase including unusual shapes like rounds, triangles and hexagons; just make sure that your gift will fit well into the selected shape.

Using tissue paper can significantly upgrade the quality of your gift-wrapping and makes it a more pleasant experience for the receiver to open.  You can choose from a variety of weights some of which are textured and/or shimmer, so you can select accordingly.  However the crisper it sounds the better the experience.

Have fun and create interest using flowers, leaves and other adornment to beautify and add creativity to your package.  Experiment with different widths of ribbon, ruched fabric and even textures like Hessian and other surfaces.

If you're packing a delicate item, make sure it's well protected from damage; use bubble wrap or foam chips to secure vulnerable areas.  Whilst it may not look as attractive as tissue, you would want the gift to reach the receiver in one piece.  You can always add extra tissue on top to beautify.  Make sure that the gift cannot move within the box by crumpling tissue paper and inserting it as extra padding around the item.

Remember that wedding gifts do not necessary have to be wrapped in white or pastel colours.  You can also be extremely creative by substituting fabric instead of paper with your gift-wrapping; you can choose from rich, sumptuous selections in weights to suit your needs.  This is an excellent choice if the receiver of the gift is from an ethnic background and you are having trouble finding suitable paper to honour and express their culture.

Don't forget the importance of tagging your gifts.  Amongst all the other gifts which will be given at various stages leading up to the wedding, it will be very easy for either or both of the couple to forget which paper yours was wrapped in.  Save them this extra stress, make sure your gifts are well presented with the appropriate information and best wishes.  Hand written tags are more personalised than printed labels.

Be mindful of your finish, aim for a coordinated, overall look which blends and compliments.  Make sure you do not bypass the fine details like the finish of your ribbon, make sure that they are properly edged; there are many alternatives to a straight cut.  You can use an elegant slant, V. shape or zigzag edge among others.  You can also curl the ribbon if you wish.  Ensure that your edges and seams are neat for a professional look and you are well on your way to creating a personalised style gift presentation.
