The finishing touch,
the ultimate adornment for your precious memories.

It is as important to get this right as it is to take the pictures in the first place.

A frame can make or break a photograph, it must compliment and enhance not overwhelm.
Choose your frame to suit your individual tastes in coordination with your room décor; heavy chunky furniture looks good with broad frames, highly decorative furniture works well with filigree or ornate frames, art deco style is complimented by a very fine, slender frame.
FRAME SAMPLE IDEAS TO CONSIDER
Metallic finish picture frame

METALLIC

This always works well with wedding photos, a casing of silver and/or gold to add glitz and glamour to a naturally shiny occasion.

A very fancy frame which needs an equally as elaborate wedding photo so that they compliment each other. It is very suitable for formal and semi-formal style.

However if you keep the design work simple and the frame size fairly slender, it can be considered for a simple wedding to enhance the presentation.

CRYSTAL

This is the ultimate in chic elegance and universal styling, with an expensive look and feel.

An excellent choice for a full, traditional fairytale photo yet adds a touch of sophistication to a simpler wedding.

However be careful of using it with a very casual wedding photo as it may overwhelm the presentation . You would need a less fancy frame for this kind of wedding photo.

Ornate style metalwork frame

ORNATE METALWORK

Very open and intricate, this style features leaves, flowers and other artistic decor, worked into elaborate designs.

This type of frame needs a strong photo so that it compliments and enhances without taking centre stage; it is not suitable for a very casual wedding photo, which would best suit a more streamlined design.

If hanging on a wall make sure that the wall finish is fairly plain and not too busy as togethr with this type of frame it can look confusing.

Antique style photo frame

VINTAGE

Very nostalgic and classical, you have to be careful with this frame as it can overwhelm if not used correctly.

It works very well with formal photos especially with techniques of an antique or old fashioned nature like sepia tone and other finishes.

Consider the general decor of your home if contemplating this style of frame as it can look out of place if you have a modern setting.

Contemporary photo frame

CONTEMPORARY

Works very well with the more modern, casual style wedding photos, beach or civil.

The trendy, edginess and stark simplicity of this style of frame fits in with all modern styles of decor and art-deco approaches. its uncomplicated look is its beauty, affording a simple photo to stand out and come into its own.

Slender accent bands of gold or silver add extra interest while still keeping within style.

Polished wood picture frame

POLISHED WOOD

A very traditional approach, which can also be used with a matt finish, with the addition of gold or silver accents worked in to the design, to pick up the bride’s jewellery or other adornments and features.

Very versatile in its construction, this frame is universal because it can be made simple or extravagant. Depending on the individual design work or simplicity of the structure, it can be considered for most styles of wedding. Natural wood provides a warmth to general home decor.

Other Style Consideration

Transparent

Made from Perspex, economical and are usually borderless.

This variety is more suitable for casual or civil wedding photos, not complimentary enough for a very formal wedding, which would require a border frame.

These examples represent the general, there are other style considerations you can explore like inlaid, ethnic, marble and texturised frames.

PROFESSIONAL FRAMING

Your wedding photos are a precious keepsake and deserve the ultimate in display; while several off the shelf styles are available, it is also a good idea to have them professionally framed, to showcase them at their fullest for display.

The professional framer will be able to provide a variety of moulding borders for your approval in addition to a large selection of mats to enhance the photograph and make it appear bigger.

It is a good idea to match your mat to a special colour in the photograph, for example a flower from the bride’s bouquet or the groom’s tie.  Moreover the professional framer provides additional services like labeling and mat shaping.
