"The Flower Girl”, is an angelic vision, a flower fairy who precedes the bride scattering petals in her
path … A sweet taste of things to come.

Choosing a flower girl’s attire is a very sensitive issue because while the bride may have the final say on the look, feel and theme of the dress, shoes etc it is traditionally the child’s parents who pay.   So it is important to understand the budget of the parents and work within their range. (Please note that the hair decoration, basket and petals are traditionally paid for by the couple).

Flower girl dresses can be simple or frothy but usually always echo the colours of the theme and bridesmaids dresses.  This can be added through silk flowers, beading, embroidery, edging or a bow.  Always remember when outfitting a flower girl is that she is first and foremost a child and should be allowed to be one, reserve fine straps, off -shoulder, tight fits and deep necklines for the adult bridesmaids.

In addition be careful of the length, especially if she is very young, as you don’t want the youngster to trip on unsteady feet.

The golden rule to remember is that she must be comfortable and that you respect and preserve her innocence,
in your choice of her clothing.

Her appearance is in your hands and she is counting on you to make her look adorable.
