stressful but highly exciting time, it is of fundamental importance that you keep yourself in a condition of well being and good health, remembering that your spirits and condition of your body are equally as important your looks.
Of course you want to look your best on your special day, we want a beautiful bride but we also want a healthy bride, one which radiates and glows her inner beauty on her special day.
Remember that this is going to be a lot of preparation, leading to a long day and in a manner of which you are not accustomed to normally. It is important that you are prepared in all aspects.
With a few handy tips, you can plan your strategy to make sure that you are not affected adversely by your wedding planning and are in good health to enjoy your wedding, honeymoon and beyond:.
STRESS
We all
agree that this is definitely a challenging time, with so much to do there doesn’t seem to be time to do it all, so we make extra time by skipping sleep and recreational activities.
Reorganise … Accept that you cannot do it all alone, do not be afraid to ask and accept help. Your bridal party have duties which extend beyond just looking good on the big day. Others, particularly your maid-of-honour, can be invaluable to you at this time.
In addition, make sure that you rest regularly as a routine, leading up to the wedding and take time out with your fiancé to enjoy recreation and quality time together.
Above all, do not work late into the small hours of the morning the night before your wedding; a well rested bride radiates naturally ... An aura which no make-up can create.
NUTRITION
This is not a time to go
skipping meals. The hectic pace of your preparations may make you feel that you don’t have time to eat and that it is easier to just slip out of the house. Stop! Eat healthily as needed, particularly a good nutritious breakfast which will set you up to be energetic for the day. Most important of all you don’t want to skip breakfast on your actual wedding day. A serving will prevent fainting, fatigue and dizziness. Consider a light meal, healthy cereal of muesli, grains, fruit or blended protein shakes, which are easy to digest and quick to prepare.
SKIN & BODYCARE
Do any
new skin-care regimen early so that your skin is in good condition by the time of your wedding. Results from treatment takes time, you have to allow skin cells to renew themselves and you will experience a few breakouts before it settles to the desired outcome. Remember however, that success comes from regularity, doing things piece-meal will give you an unpredictable result because you didn’t see it through.
This is not a time for extreme weight loss, which can make you very ill and cause you to have to drastically alter your gown.
Aim instead for fitness and toning.
Enlisting a professional is a good way to safely monitor your progress.
SWELLING
Naturally
this is a day when you will be on your feet a lot, moving from one stage of your wedding to the next, posing for pictures, greeting guests etc. There will be stress on your feet and your ankles in particular. Make sure yourshoesfit correctly and this is not a good time to try a new heel height.
Try to sit down periodically during the wedding, whenever a moment arises, to reduce the stress of constant standing, which you may not be accustomed to depending on your occupation.
Prepare yourself beforehand; find time to have a soothing foot soak after a hectic day of preparations, massaging the balls and heels of your feet to encourage healthy blood flow. A few ankle exercises can go a long way to strengthening your resistance for the wedding. Try simple ankle rotations while watching TV, leading up to the wedding, this will increase strength and flexibility.
