Bridal Sari Hair Style

The sleek, elegant beauty of a sari inspired hair style is really the crowning glory of your entire look because it sets the pace and placing for a large selection of distinct, traditional jewellery, floral and other hair ornamentation ..

This approach is basically simple, relying on good condition more than intricate creativity or fashion colour, as it is important that the style reflects shine in whatever way it is presented.

This is not to say that a bridal sari hair style cannot be very creative, on the contrary because the look is opulent, it can successfully infuse exotic, regal beauty into its composition and merge seamlessly with the rest of your outfit, without appearing overdone.

You equally have the same choice for simplicity or extravagance, depending on your general presentation, as with other bridal hairstyles; you can play up or down to suit, however bear one thing in mind if you want to look authentic and well put together, try to aim for timeless, smooth elegance as the approach will not work well with trendy, hip hairdos.

If a more en vogue fashion is what you desire you can always consider another style of bridal gown where you can fully express it to the full potential.

The bridal sari hairstyle is graceful and sophisticated … A perfect compliment for the fluid charm of the overall presentation.

WEARING CURLS
Contenplating using curls with a bridal sari requires a different approach than you would normally consider, to fully accommodate the look.  Basically the tighter the curl, the further away from your face it should be.

If considering an updo style, smooth closely to the scalp the front and sides of your hair and keep the curls towards the back.  This will enable you to enjoy the best of both worlds where your hair is suitably slick to compliment the sari, allowing for placement of hair accessories but at the same time infusing the curls you desire.

Down styles are excellent for less formal and beach inspired weddings, while straight and sleek looks great, you can still wear curl in your hair, infusing texture and movement.  The key here is to have the curls looser, tumbling and away from the scalp.  Try to keep the crown as smooth as possible so that the curls start from a few inches down.  This will prevent them from competing with hair décor and also retains the glossy image of a sari approach in a beautiful way.

BASIC CONCEPTS & STRATEGIES

Partial Updo

ORNATE HAIRSTYLES

A partial updo is very flattering to this look.  Consider a flat, shiny front with sculpted curls on the crown and the rest left flowing.  This style is very convenient for the addition of hair ornamentation and can still accommodate a fine veil.

The same style can work equally as well with a full updo crown of sculpted curls, giving length to the neck, leaving it elegantly bare to wear a gorgeous necklace.  This is very flattering for photos, creating a sculpted facial elegance.

Enjoy the full potential of the back of your hair with this approach; you can infuse twists, plaits, gold or silver strands and other interesting features to make it look as rich and formal as your ceremony allows.

High ponytail

PONYTAILS

The Sari approach works very well with the clean simplicity of a ponytail.  Worn high or low, this look is not only very true to the style it is also extremely versatile.

Wear it to the back or side, plaited or left loose, waved or left straight.  By far the most important aspect of its versatility is that it can be easily added if it does not exist.  While a whole head of extensions is generally time consuming, a faux ponytail can be successfully matched and attached for the big day and easily be removed afterwards.

Bun hairstyle

CLASSIC BUN

Always a favourite for formal occasions but can look very severe if not handled carefully.  However, with the bridal sari look, this uncomplicated, timeless hairstyle allows for the full application of almost any creative, arrangement of sari inspired jewellery you desire, without the hair competing.

You are also free to use a thicker, embellished veil if you wish.  soften the appearance by raising the bun up top for a high cheekbone look, where you can enjoy having fun with your make-up, playing up your eyes etc. or you can place it to the side for creative chic.

SHORT HAIR

While the style traditionally calls for hair with length, this does not mean that you cannot enjoy the look if your hair is short.  Many brides still want to remain with their own personality and do not wish to add extensions if their hair is usually short.  The key is to enjoy fullness with your short hair but keep it as smooth as possible, reflecting the light and complimenting the fluid gracefulness of the approach.

This would mean considering classic cuts, side sweeps, slick backs etc and leaving out spiky cuts, buzz cut, choppy layers and other trendy styles, for this look.  You can then enjoy from a large selection of accessories, to further enhance and beautify the entire form.

CONDITION

Remember that the bridal sari hair look relies on its smoothness to be effective so it is even more important that you consider the condition of your hair when choosing style.  Follow beneficial practices for your hair, ensuring that it remains clean and not oily, start early and be consistent for best results.
CONSULTING A PROFESSIONAL

As with any other bridal hair style it is always advisable to consult a professional, maybe even a little more so, because someone who is experienced is the best person to advise you of the correct balance,  considering the amazing jewellery and adornment possibilities.

A professional can inform you how they will interact with your hairstyle in addition to your bridal sari gown.  It is a good idea to bring your outfit and accessories with you on consultation, to give the stylist an idea of what they are working with.

A trial is essential so have an idea of what you want, as the sari look is very specific yet versatile and ensure that the proposed look is something which you will be comfortable with.
